In her blog post below, she generously offered to share the best of the best for this season’s gift ideas.
Melissa’s Makeup & Beauty Must Haves
I have a confession to make. I am an addict, a makeup and beauty product addict. I know there are worse addictions to have, but lets be honest makeup and beauty products can get pricey real quick. My addiction has cost me thousands of dollars and I have spent years of my life narrowing down the perfect products for my beauty rotation. I thought I would share some of my top picks in the hopes it will help save you some time and money. I will warn you this list is in no way complete since I have not given up my habit. I will be sure to update you on future products as I find them.
Seche Vite dry fast top coat $9-$10
If you want that finishing touch on your in home manicure Seche Vite top coat is essential. It dries fast and adds superior shine. It also melts small smudges so if you mess up a nail during your first 2 polish coats don’t worry Seche Vite will save the day!
Tweeserman Cuticle Cutter
Easiest tool to use for cleaning your own cuticles. Has a great cuticle pusher on one end and nice sharp cuticle cutter on the other end. If you are like me and prefer to do your own manicures, this is the best tool for the job. This is a must-have for every makeup and beauty kit.
Younique Lip Gloss
This is hands down the best lip gloss I’ve ever used! It’s not sticky, conditions your lips, with great colors options and shine. What more could you ask for?
Younique Royalty Divine Moisturizer
This moisturizer has renewed my skin, evened my skin tone, and almost eliminated my acne scars. I cannot say enough about how much I love this stuff. It’s now a staple in my makeup and beauty routine.
Urban Decay Naked Basics
This palette is a staple in my makeup bag, it comes with me everywhere I go. With 5 matte shades ranging from a pale beige to a charcoal black and 1 shimmery cream tone it’s perfect. You can easily go from a bright day look to a deep smokey eye with the colors in this pallet. I use this on almost all the brides I work with that want a subtle natural look for their big day.
Color WOW Cocktails – Available at both trUe locations!
We all know coloring your hair causes damage but that doesn’t stop most of us from booking our next visit to the salon. This product is great for colored hair and makes it look and feel healthier than you could ever dream possible. It comes in 3 options for different hair types and needs. Kale to restore bonds and strengthen hair, coconut to restore soft texture and shine, and Card to add volume.
Urban Decay Electric Palette – Regularly $49 (On sale now for $27)!
If you are like me and love a splash of bright color in your eye shadow every once in a while then you will love this pallet. The colors are super pigmented, bright and really pop. It’s great to blend into the inner corner of your eye to give you a look with a little edge and a lot of fun!
Murad Sulfur Face Mask
I have large pores and oily skin. I get black heads easily. Murad’s sulfur face mask has saved my life. You put it on and leave it for 10-15 minutes and as it dries it literally pulls out all the dirt, oil and makeup that has built up in your pores. When you wash it off it leaves you with fresh new skin. Follow it up with the Divine moisturizer and you will think you just spent the day pampered at the spa without the price-tag.
Nars Blush
This blush is AMAZING! It has just the right amount of shimmer and the color is perfect for any skin tone. It gives that great flushed look that is so hot on the runways this year. It is definitely my new favorite for that finishing touch to all my makeup fantasies.
Too Faced Mascara
I have a strong love affair with this mascara. This stuff lives up to its name, and it’s simply amazing! This mascara curls my lashes, lifts them, gives them volume without clumping and just makes me feel like the prettiest sunflower in the garden! If I have nothing on but this mascara and some foundation, I’ll still feel ready for the ball. You have to try it, you’ll love it too!
